Muslim Women Connect have coordinated many successful mentoring relationships since 2017 and our mentees have gone on to achieve incredible successes.
WHAT IS MUSLIM WOMEN CONNECT?
Our vision is for a supportive network of Muslim women who, guided by the values of their faith, set high aspirations for themselves, strive for excellence in their personal and professional lives, seek to support the women around them and who value self-reflection, self-development and self-care.
HOW DOES THE MENTORING PROGRAMME WORK?
Successful mentee applicants will be paired with a Muslim woman mentor who holds experience in the mentee’s desired sector.
Together, participants will work 1:1 over 6 months on their personal and professional development with the overall aim of supporting and advancing the mentee’s career goals and achievements.
Alhamdulillah, our programme is also a safe space for mentor/mentee discussions on how faith intersects with personal and professional goals and development.
Alongside 1:1 mentoring sessions, mentees will benefit from 3 skills masterclasses to further their career development, delivered by Muslim women who are experts in their field. Some examples of masterclasses to date include:
- Building your personal brand
- Making networking work for you
- Leading with emotional intelligence.
Mentors will receive initial training, monthly peer support and networking sessions and 3 skills masterclasses to build on their mentoring ability and magnify their positive impact.
For more information, read our mentoring programme guide.
Eligibility: participants must be Muslim women living in the UK aged 18 or above.
Considerations: mentoring sessions will generally take place remotely as this is the best way for our small team to reach women across the UK.
