WHAT WE DO
Muslim Women Connect (MWC) is a UK-wide organisation that supports Muslim women to overcome personal, institutional and societal barriers to career success and fulfilment.
Through community-building programmes, events, partnerships and research, Muslim Women Connect:
- encourages, inspires and up-skills Muslim women,
- provides a supportive network of Muslim women and
- informs and influences decision makers in education, workplaces and government.
Who We Are
Our organisation is run entirely by Muslim women for Muslim women.
We are a small team of volunteers with lived experience of the challenges that Muslim women face at work.
We are building a supportive network of Muslim women who are guided by the values of their faith.
Our network set high aspirations for themselves, strive for excellence in their personal and professional lives, seek to support the women around them and value self-reflection, self-development, and self-care.
We recognise the multiple systemic barriers that Muslim women face.
Muslim Women Connect works by the following values:
Community – Building a community of Muslim women who support one another.
Justice – Ensuring justice in everything we do and seeking justice for others.
Excellence – Supporting Muslim women to strive for excellence in their personal and professional development.
Balance – Encouraging a balance between work and wellbeing and between deen and dunya.
Self-reflection – Embracing continuous self-reflection, self-development and self-care.
Advocacy – Supporting, celebrating and advocating for each other as Muslim women.
